Do people who use HCG lose weight?

Well, it depends on whom you speak to. First, HCG must be injected to be effective. All the oral supplements of HCG are useless as none of it is ever absorbed from the stomach- the acid rapidly breaks it down. Secondly, people who lose weight with this regimen do so primarily because of the very low calorie diet and not due to HCG. Third, there are no studies, which have shown that HCG injections can help people lose weight. In fact, HCG injections generally make people gain weight. Fifth HCG injections are not meant for men. Sixth, HCG has never been approved for weight loss by the FDA. HCG has only been approved to treat infertility and all other non-approved uses are considered experimental.

The dietary restrictions by these weight loss clinics are no joke either. These so-called weight loss professionals recommend low calorie diets of 600-800 calories a day. For those of you who do not understand calories well, this means you drink some boiled water in the morning and have a one slice of bread and a few scraps of cereal. You are allowed to drink more water throughout the morning. Then have another slice of bread with a fruit for lunch and more water. Before bedtime, another slice of bread but this time you can add some butter and jam- and do not forget the water. You can eat one or two peanuts to quench the hunger pangs (If you eat a few more peanuts, then of course, you will have gone over your 600-calorie limit and the Pros will blame you rather than their diet!).
